Drug companies impose marketing strategies on canvas physicians to prescribe their medicines to patients. Physicians end up in accepting gifts from these pharmaceutical companies. This way they may prescribe these medicines to the ones who don't need it and may consider their patients to a mere tools to sell all these drugs. This imposes a greater ethical issue in society. This drug promotion may influence the decision-making capacity of the physician, and it is a severe wound laid on the clinical relationship.

The basic values that all health care providers to be observed are:-

  • Autonomy, the right of the patient to decide what is his/her will to do with their body.
  • The health care providers must do all which will benefit the body of the patient.
  • No harm should be caused.
  • Fairness in all decisions.
