Why do commercial health insurance dominate BCBS plans in 1960s?
Commercial health insurance is a healthcare policy that is
administered by governments. The commercial health insurance
programs aim to generate profit for the shareholders. It can be
both profit-making or non-profit making organizations. On the other
hand, BCBS can be an example of health insurance plans which is
treated as both profit-making and nonprofitable in different
regions of the USA.
The commercial health insurance plans have become immensely popular
after 1960 for its immensely popular healthcare plans that support
the reimbursement processes. Medicare and Medicaid programs under
the commercial health plans have provided technical support to the
commercial healthcare policies which are unavailable in BCBS plans.
The Medicare part A under the commercial service provides inpatient
facilities while part B provides facilities to outpatients. The
expansion of healthcare facilities has advanced commercial
healthcare plans from 1960.
