SWOT Analysis
SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) is an
essential step in strategy development. Provide what you believe to
be the three most significant elements of each dimension of SWOT
for your firm. Note that these should only reflect issues that
apply to the Airline environment and not ones outside the scope of
the simulation.

The SWOT analysis for the business of Air Asia, a Malaysia based international carrier is been used to determine its aspects of SWOT.
Strength:
· The strength of the brand is its name in the Asia Pacific region as a renowned and cheap to fly brand,
· A five year based strategy that makes the business to adhere with the time and pace of changes in the multiple sectors,
· The Use of Information technology is highly integrated with the business to be able to monitor in real-time all the activities for the best of operations.
Weakness:
· The brand doesn’t have a facility to maintain its fleet which it has to outsource to others,
· The consumer complaints about being a cheap airline have been of a weakness which has made the consumers unsatisfied with the services.
· Most of the fleet of the brand is in the lease with very few crafts of their own.
Opportunity:
· The recent trade agreements with the Southeast Asian nations for inter-nation transport and business facilities has helped its operations,
· The business can develop local or international carrier partnership for the consumer’s cost benefits which aids both the companies of aviation,
· The increasing economy of South East Asia is a big opportunity for flight services to get a better and more vibrant market ahead.
Threats:
· The threats are to the kind of controls that the aviation may make or do in the present-day global Air carrier laws and scenario
· The competition is high so if there is a new entity with bigger capital the business may have tough times ahead,
· The safety and security of the Airliners post 9/11 have been a threat to the business of aviation all across.
