Achilles is a self-centered warrior who never wanted to respect anyone but respected fighting and gaining glory. This is seen when he denies to accept Menelaus as his king and says he will fight with no one. He uses his soldiers to attain his selfish motives when he decided to join the war later to fulfill his destiny. He is more ruthless and merciless in the battlefield looking for vengeance thus acting without much control and this was visible when he killed Hector and dragged him on the ground. He is very proud and acts egoistically.
Although Aeneas is a very powerful hero, he was very much concerned with his family and avoided fighting wherever possible but when in need he stands in front to protect them. He was merciful and never thought of vengeance but forgave and departed find another land when Troy fell thus founding Rome. He was able to overcome his emotions and direct his energy and the remaining people to a more constructive path.
