The steps
(i) Designing the new curriculum and check it against benchmarks
of the best in class schools, while taking into account, the
shortcomings and constraints of the system./
(ii) Taking the departmental heads into confidence and prepare a
blueprint of the change process.
(iii) Identifying the new resources needed or the changes that will have to be made in the old system for facilitating introduction of the new norm.
(iv) Making sure that the changes aare in line with the extant rules and regulations.
(v) Preparing a contingency plan for smooth changeover.
(vi) Making Communication with stakeholders such as governing authorities, parents, employees, students and all others who would be affected.
( vii) Moving ahead with the implementation, monitoring the performance, reviewing it periodically and making corrections as needed.
(viii) Managing the post change scenario and analysing the performance of change process against the norms.
Challenges
(i) Many of the staff members may not buy the idea of change in norm due to a number of different reasons.
(ii) Stakeholders may not have the same view of the processes as the school authorities, and their issues are difficult ti accomodate.
(iii) The new norm might violate a statutory law or local regulation, or might affect the students or employees in some way.
(iv) The plan needs so many changes that it affects the smooth functioning of system despite best efforts.
(v) Constraints of resources and time or issues related to quality of output might act as deterrants.
