1) Does increasing poverty and homelessness pose a threat to the
broader economy? Why or why not?
2) What, if anything, is the role of all levels of government(federal, state, and local governments) in reducing poverty and homelessness in the United States?
Address poverty and homelessness from an economic point of view.
Answer: Increasing poverty and homelessness pose a threat to the broader economy as poverty can't be considered only lack of money rather it associates limitation of achieving true potential of an individual or community as a whole.
In broder economic point of view lack of poverty and homelessness consists of lack of skilled labour, lack of education level in present and hence in future generations which in otherwise can contribute toward GDP if would have access to proper education, vocational or skilling levels.
It also hampers the overall development of future generation hence hampers the economy and its sustainability.
Answer 2: Role of all levels of government(federal, state, and local governments) in reducing poverty and homelessness in the United States can be divided on various levels.
As determination of level of poverty and homelessness and its extent and communities in which it is widely prevalent are sole function of State governments and provision of funds for their upliftment, formation of adequate education and vocation policies should be combined function of federal and state governments where as the implementation of these policies and suggestions on their adequate outcomes widely based on bottom to top approach should be given to local level governments as they can assess the ground level situations more effectively and efficiently that other two governments.
Hope it helps!
