Describe the marketing communication tools used in a Marketing Communications Mix
There are different types of marketing communication tools, including Sales promotion, advertising, public relations, direct mail and sponsorship. Most companies use combination of these various communication tools to get desired result,
Sales Promotion - It include product demonstrations, displays, coupons, free samples, quiz, contest, offers as "buy one/get one free," and other incentives. The goal of sales promotion is spur short-term sales or liquidate inventory.
Advertising - It is one of the most prevalent communication tool. It is used to convey product's / company's message to masses. Magazine, newspaper, online, offline, television are the medium for advertisement. It also get used for brand building and creating perception in long term.
Public relation - It helps a company to have a positive public image. It includes press releases, interviews and sponsorship of major events. It helps in brand building and creating positive perception in long term.
Direct marketing - It includes mail and email promotions and catalogues. It is one of the most prevalent marketing communications used from ages. It is easily measurable marketing communication tool among all marketing tool.
Personnel selling - Its another communication tool used through inside and outside company sells representives to communicate about their product. It is two way communication and one of communication tool to get direct feed back of end users.
