Personal Selling is an important technique used in the integrated marketing communications mix of a company. In what areas of skills and knowledge development, a consumer electronic retailer should train its sales people?
I believe that personal selling is one of the most important and difficult way of selling products in which the seller needs to possess a fair bit of knowledge regarding the selling techniques which include skills like communication and persuasion. I believe that in order to make individuals enable in personal selling the training that is provided by the organization is very important. In this case we take the example of consumer electronic retailer then primarily the individual needs to possess knowledge about the product they are planning to sell and knowledge means sound knowledge and more of the strengths of the product. Secondly, the individual needs to decipher the emotion of the potential customer and focus on that aspect, for example if the issue is price then the products in their price range should be showcased. Thirdly the seller needs to be aware of the strategies in personal selling and they need to win the trust of the customer so that they can rely on the individual for selling of their products and goods. Lastly, Communication is the key and the individual needs to be aware of how to communicate and effectively communicate regarding the same to get hold of the objective.
