Will someone give me a summary of vestibular sense that have fascination and pertinent you in your own life experience or what you think of vestibular sense with the inner ear
Vestibular sense is the sense of spatial movement and balance of the body. It is controlled or formed in the inner ear. The inner ear has two parts the vestibule and the cochlea. The vestibule is responsible for the control of balance and movement whereas the cochlea is responsible for hearing or to be exact converting the vibrations recieved through the middle ear into neural signals to send to the brain. Both the vestibule and the cochlea send the neural signal to the brain through the Eighth Cranial Nerve the vestibulocochlear nerve. A physician performs multiple tests in outpatient to determine the proper function of the vestibulocochlear nerve like hearing tests and Rinne's test and Weber's test etc.
As to your question about real life experiences pertaining to the vestibular function of the inner ear is the simple example of feeling dizzy or having vertigo after spinning in a tight circle for a certain amount of time and speed. This is a physiological thing meaning it is normal, however a person with some pathology can have the symptoms of vertigo or hearing loss or pain in the ear or discharge in case of pathologies ranging from labrynthitis to minniere's disease.
Therefore, i believe the vestibular function of the inner ear is extremely important for a person to lead a normal life and have a sense of balance in the body and not go around wobbling.
