How is violence against the LGB community tied to the construction of gender? must be 300 words
Violence against the LGB community is tied to construction of gender. Gender based violence is referred to as the violence in which actions are restricted to the freedom of a person or their will. This may be in the form of sociocultural violence, physical violence or psychological violence. This violence is not only restricted against women, but it may also be against men. This has been observed more specifically in response to les-bian women or transgender women. LGB community is tied to gender based violence since the idea of only men and women being partners, had always prevailed.
The CDC says that violence that has been observed against the bise-xual people are higher than what is observed by the heterose-xuals. It has been reported that almost 47% of the transgender people have been assaulted at some or the other points in their lives. Almost 48% of bise-xual women are known to have been survivors of rape in the ages 11-17. This is becoming alarming since the rates at which these instances are coming forward are alarming.
Now, when some people see individuals deviating from this set norm, they are unable to accept this deviation. As a result, they carry out homicidal violence, one physical assaults, discrimination in providing nursing interventions or medical assistance. This deviation from constructed gender ideologies lead to such violence. even after the society being so progressive today, law enforcement has not been extended to the les-bian and queer couples in the same way as for the straight couples. The society even after being so progressive, has not accepted this aspect of the society in a complete manner and does not treat it equally. the acceptance of the fact that this is also a part of the society as a whole, is not seen. Unless the overall acceptance among people comes, such instances would keep continuing.
