Extension of Metro to Sharjah is an ambitious project to decongest the city by adopting a rapid mass based transit system. The PLC of the project presently is in introductory stage and it will take much more time to reach saturation phase. For project like this quality is an important issue. It involves safety of the structure, safety of passengers and crisis management system in case of any emergency and disaster.All the quality management techniques like Kaizen, Six Sigma, TQM and Lean management can be used to monitor quality and attaining quality in operation. Among the theories of quality management Kiazen and Lean manaement can be effective for this project. Kaizen is a Japanese word which means continuous improvement and Lean management is also about eliminating waste and to boost effeiciency. The peoject is in introductory phase of PLC so kaizen is necessity so that as the time passage it will attain more standard and margin of error will be zero. It can be attained by lean management.
