1. Random Variation or Common Variation: It is created at the time of manufacturing design, engineering, quality . these type of variation are output and is result from the cause variations. example random variations is out of control and the inherent variability is always more . we can improve the quality by reducing the inherent variables by changing the process. and need to sure that all the variation are find out and controlled.

2.Systemetic Variation: It is also called the Cause , Assignable vvariations. The Observed random Variations in the measurement would result from the assignable variations.. these are the sources of the variation. For example the power surges which affect the Lathe, over used of Coil in the Fan, cutting tool became dull, overtiming of bearing or some errors in making the measurements . etc. these variation are need to be observed , find out the cause and rectification of the problem.
