Despite more integration occurring within other corporations and industries around the world; the obstacles to language and culture can be daunting. The Global Harmonization System (GHS) has been working to tackle this challenge by getting everyone on board with a way to label chemicals globally. With many larger businesses now operating globally; more than ever this process is needed. This mechanism is of importance not only to the United States but globally as well. For this cause, the European Union has established a program called REACH (Registration, Evaluationt,Authorization, and Chemical Safety).
I believe that a worldwide trading business with various languages; Using the pictograms and getting a standard method would be a successful first step for us to understand. There are also hurtles to be met by testing thousands of different chemicals and ensuring that the correct marking is achieved according to the quantity of those chemicals in mixture. Some of the steps that need to be taken is to continue to find a way to improve it like the GHS is working on; but we still have a long way to go. Some of these services are becoming more expensive and causing pressure on other producers and companies.
