Cultures are created through communication. Communication is the means of human interaction through which cultural characteristics such as customs, roles, rules, rituals, laws, or other patterns are created and shared.
Cultural competence is the ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures. Culturally competent communication is critical for all aspects of service delivery. It can break down barriers, improve access to services and support better health outcomes for clients. It is equally critical for staff wellbeing and satisfaction.
Indicators of culturally appropriate written communication are

· Quality review mechanisms are established to check the integrity of translated materials.
· Culturally appropriate ways to disseminate written materials are identified.

Written communication has a unique way of expressing the message with all the values, quality and beliefs.
