Can someone create a Project Integration Management (PIM) plan for a project manager who is implementing SCADA system in a factory
Project integration management plan:
After in house configuration, next step is onsite integration. Here the newly configured equipment will be taken to the location. Here the time consuming part is waiting for coordination of schedules whether it is for good maintenance window or planning time around other sub contractors. This relies on subcontractors to integrate SCADA with existing systems.
Here all the parts of the system will be tested including alarms and output parameters. Scheduling is very important in this phase as customers must provide time for equipment to be tested. The testing time frame depends on systems being tested. Fr example a generator can take an entire day whereas a battery system can take few hours.
For existing SCADA, the time frame must be shorter than new construction. Because there is no hard deadline for a retrofit project. It’s at client discretion to decide whether onsite work and testing is required or not.
Time frame for a small system:
Total time frame: 5-6 weeks. Whereas for larger system, it can take 3-4 months.
