What types of physicians practice personalized medicine and is personalized medicine avaliable for all medical conditions?
Sources would be great. Thanks!
There are two modes of medication in healthcare institutions, generalized medicine and personalized medicine. Whereas generalized medicine is followed routinely by all physicians in order to treat a previously knonw and already understood medical situation, personalized medicine is practised in special cases when the general medical practices fail to provide support to the patient. This is why this mode of medication is also called stratified or precision medicine. Genrally, this mode of medication is followed for highly non-responsive patients, patients with specific genetic conditions or patients with rare disorders etc. Thus, a phsician follows the practise of personalized medicine in special cases.
It is important to understand here that personalized medicine is not only a medical practise but also involves pre-medical technologies such as research and development related to pre-clinical systems. Hence, personalized medicine demands a huge input of finances, manpowers, machines and technical support. This is why the cost and feasibility of personalized medicine are tough to follow and hence it is not always possible to practise personalized medicine in all cases.
