Physical attraction - Whether or not we like the person on an aesthetic or physical level can make a lot of difference when it comes to the initial impression. This is because initially, this is one of the only ways that we get to gauge the other person in question.
Geographical proximity - This is also one of the ways which can make a lot of difference when it comes to the initial impression of the person. We are much more likely to like the person with whom there are chances of more encounters and therefore people who are geographically closer are preferred.
Similar interests - This is one of the important facotrs which tends to influence the initial liking for another person. If the person is similar in one or more aspects of identity like caste, class, religion, hobbies, or personality then there are more chances for them to be liked.
