Briefly write about only two:
(a) Out breeding,
(b) Cross breeding,
(c) Controlled breeding.
(a) Out breeding: When there is a cross between individuals of two different populations, leading to the formation of offspring having characterstics of both. This generally leads to the outbreeding depression due to which the offspring is not able to adapt in any of the conditions adapted by his parents individually. However mixing of two drastrically gene pool of two different population is beneficial as sometimes the offspring is superior to the mating parents called outbreeding enhancement.
(b) Cross breeding: Crossbreeding is the process of breeding or mating of two different breeds having pureline of their own breed. Usually the breeds are chosen on the basis of fact that they must have complementary traits that will enhance the value of offspring in terms of economic use. Sometimes due to low heritability there is heterosis in the hybrid offspring.
(c) Controlled breeding. The production of offspring by artificial insemination and Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer Technology (MOET) is called controlled breeding.
