To make a safeguard against infectious diseases following measures can be taken:

1) Taking care of personal and public hygine- this includes maintaining a hyginic habit for a healthy body including nutritious food and clean drinking water. To maintain public hygine waste should be disposed properly, cleaning should be carried out for water reservoirs, house and surrounding areas.

2) Vaccination- vaccination protocol should be followed carefully to avoid communicable diseases such as measels, mumps.

3) Isolation-when a person is infected with infectious disease such as chicken pox it is advisable to keep that person in isolation to prevent or reduce the channce of spreading of air borne infection.

4) Vector control- various infectious disease like malaria, dengu spread with the help of vectors like mosquitoes. Thus it is important to provide a clean environment so that the vectors can not breed and diseases can not spread.
