Infections are caused by microscopic organism known as pathogens that enter the body l, multiply and interfere with normal functions. For certain people particularly those with underlying illness like heart disease or cancer or those who are taking medication that weaken the immune system its become more difficult to avoid getting sick with an infection.

The first line of defence to keeps germs away is to maintain a good personal hygiene.

  • Wash your hands frequently even after coughing, sneezing ,stroking a pet or after visiting a ill person.
  • Always use a tissue while sneezing or coughing. If tissue is not available sneeze or cough at your elbow rather than your hand.
  • Wash and bandage all cuts properly. If any serious cut caused by animal immediately report to doctor.
  • Avoid direct contact with items like napkin,tisstissue, handkerchiefs used by others.

Environment health and safety studies implements practical aspects of environmental protection and safety at work. It is basically the do's and dont's a organization must practice so that there activities do not cause any harm to anyone.

From a safety point of view it involves creating organized procedure and efforts for identifying work related hazards and reducing work related accidents. It also prevents from exposure to harmful substances and situation. It includes training of the personal for emergency preparedness.

Better health at its heart, should have development of safe, high quality and environment friendly practices that reduce or prevent the harm to people in general.

From environment standpoint, it involves creating a systematic approach in complying environmental regulations such as managing waste, air emmision to reduce company's carbon footprint.
