Communication Process Model represents communication process that starts from idea to be communicated by the sender and ends at idea perceived by the receiver. Refer figure for the model.
Sender or encoder is the person who has the information to be shared with other person(s).
Encoding is the process of converting idea or information into form that can be transmitted.
Message is the set of symbols or any other form that has to be transmitted. It is the encoded idea or information.
Medium/Channel is te medium through which message is transmitted to either receiver or sender.
Received Message is the encoded message received at receiver end.
Decoding is the process of converting message back into idea or information that can be understood by the receiver.
Receiver is the person(s) to whom idea or information is to be shared by the sender.
Feedback is the response of the receiver to the sender after receiving idea or information.
The most difficult barrier to the effective communication is Psychological Barrier. It is almost impossible to communicate effectively without removing psychological barrier. Pyschological state of both sender and receiver will influence how the message is sent, received and perceived. Stress, fear and anger are some of the major psychological barriers.
