Your choice: some interesting facts given about Darwin in his experiences on the Beagle, tortoises, etc:
darwinism or theory of natural selection was proposed jointly by Charles Darwin and AR Whitaker. and the theory was later explained by Darwin in his book on the "origin of species" by the means of natural selection.
during his journey he visited Galapagos Island which is archipelago of 13 major Islands and hundreds of smaller Islands and is home to some of unique specimens searches iguana, giant tortoise ,fur seals, sharks and rays and many species of finches.
he he spent 5 weeks on Galapagos island he realized that different Islands of the the archipelago are same types but were home to different Species which were adapted to their environment
Darwin studied plants and animals of Galapagos island situated near South America. 20 types of finches which were evolved from the original species of seed eating finches. related species of this were also found in South America he concluded that there is a probability of some member of the species where migrated to Galapagos island and in time they have evolved into different species to better adopt in the environment .it is an example of adaptive radiation
he also mate giant tortoise on many islands of Galapagos Island.after visiting the islands he realized that each Island had its own but slightly different tortoises. there is species complex which is an example of adaptive radiation resulted from diversification due to new food source in ecosystem.
