2. History of Mc Donalds:
1937: Mr.Patrick McDonald opens "The Airdrome" a small food stand on Huntington Drive, California.
1940: Brothers Maurice and Richard Mc Donald reopen their father's (Patrick McDonald) restaurant as " McDonald's Bar-B-Que"
1948 : The company was renamed and reopened as "McDonald's," with main concentration on burgers.
1952 : The owers join hands with architect Meston for giving a new look to their new building and settled on a logo and converted the restaurant to a fast food chain.
1953 : Company started looking out for franchises.
1954 : Kroc with ihs friend Charles Lewis decides to Franchise McDonads through out the country.
1955 : Kroc opened the first McDonald's restaurant in Chicago
1959 : Kroc opened 68 new restaurants of McDonalds.
1960 : Intense advertising campaign started with the tagline " Look for the golden Arches"
1961 : Kroc bought McDonald brothers for $2.7 million
1961 : hamburger University was opened to meet the labour needs.
1962 : The present world famous Golden Arches logo of McDonalds was introduced.
1963 : A red haired clown named Ronald McDonald was designed and introduced to attract children.
1965: McDonald's Corporation went public.
1968 : The debut of legendary Big Mac was made.
1968 : Fred L. Turner becomes the company's president and Chief Administrative Officer.
1976 : First Restaurant in New Zealand was opened.
1992 : Michael R. Quinlan was chosedn to be president of McDonald's Corporation whilst Fred L. Turner became chairman.
1990 : The company started expanding Globally and from there on they have just been exapnding.
3. The main ethical issue that the McDonalds faced in China was about the products being sold after their expiry dates. The chicked wings were supposed to be sold within 30 minutes from its making whilst the outlets started selling them in 90 minutes time in order to increase the profits. This came to light when a video footage was leaked showing a piece of raw beef being picked up from the ground after being fallen down. They made this decision to reduce their expenses and increase their profit.
This is a poor ethical decision since they they lacked their corporate social responsibility for the purpose of reaping profits.
