  • Marriage is a kind of formalized relationship where two individuals after knowing each other well decide to enter the wedlock and stay together life-long through thick and thin. Marriage is based on love, initimacy, undesratnding, passion, respect for each other. Compromising and adjusting with each others needs and lifestyles is an important aspect of this kind of a relationship. It requires a life long commitment not only towards the partner but even family as well.
  • Friendship as another relationship is different from marriage.Friendship is an unconditional interpersonal relationship where individuals enter into by their own sweet will and choice. It is a relationship where there are no formalities and individuals enjoy each other’s presence. The entire relationship of friendship revolves around trust and give and take. No relationship can be one sided and same with friendship. Frienship is not based on intimacy like in a married relationship.
  • Other human relationships like professional relationships are only based on interactions that happen between colleagues at the workplace. Family relationships are characteristised by related by blood with each other.
  • The purpose of marriage in general is to have a companion in life with whom one can build a stable life. We all need someone in our lives with whom we can share our happiness and sorrows. Its about building a life together and eventually have children to keep the life cycle going. Children provide a new meaning to a married couple's life. Desire for affection, security, companionship and have a family make people take the plunge. Human interaction in every form is important for a healthy social life and marriage is huge part of it.
  • Marriage is more than a physical union; it is also a spiritual and emotional union. The marital commitment between a man and a woman, they claim, is consummated by a single purpose, which is expressed by “fulfilling together the behavioral conditions of procreation”
