Program evaluation is carefully and systematically collecting, analyzing the information about the program, projects, etc. to make the necessary decision on its efficiency and effectiveness of the program.

The program evaluation and analysis have similar characteristics and objectives however it differs from analysis or research on various aspects like evaluation's main purpose are to improve the quality and efficiency of the existing program, while analysis is to process and prove the insight. Analysis or research propose is to increase the knowledge and insight about the particular issues, while program evaluation work is to determine the valuable information to meet the objectives and expectations while making recommendations.

· The function of program evaluation is to improve the particular program and its efficiency and examines all the aspects of the program to become successful. Analysis on the other hand proves or gains insight from the data after examining particular issues.

· The program evaluation focuses on the program, projects, or the policy. The analysis aims to provide new knowledge and insight from the population, data, or groups. Through analysis, the person can make insight and generalize the findings to the total population.

· The program evaluation tells you more about the policy or program whether it is working or not? What kind of information did you need? Or what kind of decision you need to take to make changes in program or policy. Does the analysis tell you about whether the experiment or the process worked or not? The analysis gives the information at the end of the process or experiment.

· Program evaluation gives and determines the value, in evaluation after data collection they examine the data according to criteria and benchmarks, then determine the worthiness of the programs. In analysis after the data collection and analysis, they present the results and findings then they conclude the data, population, or groups.
