in a separation of organic molecules by gel electrophoresis, what should happen with results of alanine and spinach?
Gel electrophoresis is a laboratory method used to separate mixture of DNA, RNA or Proteins according to their molecular size.
In spinach separation - the mode of separation is modulated through cation selection. Three kinds of alkanolammonium dodecyl sulfates were tested and their abilities as to the dissociation of molecular assemblies of chlorophyll proteins were found to decrease in following order: tris( hydroxymethyl) methylammonium, triethanolammonium and triisopropanol ammonium. Comparison of electrophoretic patterns obtained with different kinds of cation will clarify the hierarchy of molecular assemblies of spinach chlorophyll proteins. As a result electrophoresis in presence of alkanolammonium dodecyl sulfates is promising as means to clarify the spinach thylakoid proteins by PAGE.
Alanine is alpha amino acid that is used in biosynthesis of protein. It can be separated using SDS-PAGE. According to its charge and size alanine is differntiated from other acidic group in proteins.
