Stepwise strategic planning
- prepared for plan: decide who will be involved
in planning process. Gather all essential and accurate information
regarding process.
- Vision and mission: clear the statement of you
vision and mission for the process. The vision reflects you goal,
what you have to do and mission gives an overall future insight of
your process.
- Current and future position: identify your
strength and weakness, it will positioned your process. If you
identify strength of your process, your current position and future
position will be secured.
- Priorities: set priorities for future success.
Strong priorities, what you want to achieve through process.
- Put the plan: pilot your plan with different
strategies (for example plan A and B or C) document it. Always be
prepared for outcome of your plan because it may be positive or
negative and wisely instruct team to apply plan. If A is not
working than analyze plan B and quickly put it on the floor.
- Task and assign actions: initially when you
satisfy with the performance of your plan whether it is A or B or
if you think it can stand in future, than assign task to team
members and distribute work according to their expertise.
- Performance accountability: continuous
monitoring of plan and work distribution is important. For
achieving successful process you have to monitor performance of
team member and plan of action every month. It will give you idea
about the weakness.

Strategic planning is important in public health organization.
Public health organizations are assigned for specific work which is
related to health issue in mass population. Hence deciding a team
is a critical step in PHO. A doctor, nurse and health worker is a
minimum requirement for working in plan. Also their vision and
mission will be clearly reflects their goal.
Strategic planning is very important in PHO because without
deciding proper team, without a vision and mission and without a
proper plan their goals could not be achieved. It is a key element
in any organization. Organization has to plan properly, according
to plan they have to recruit members and assign them a proper work.
One should have to continue monitoring the success of plan.
