What is Statistical process control (SPC) key element?
Statistical process control can be explain as the use of statistical techniques to control a process or production method. This includes graphical tools such as run charts and control charts. It can help to monitor and control the process behaviour , finding issues and also solutions for production issues.
Among several advantages of statistical quality control is that it holds responsibility for the quality in the hands of operator (squarely). Another key advantage is that it allows operators to determine if a process is drifting out of control before defective hardware is made, and in so doing, allows the prevention of defect.
Key tools used in SPC include run charts, control charts, a focus on continuous improvement, and the design of experiments. The important tool used in statistical process control includes
cause-and-effect diagram ,
control chart ,
, Check sheet,
Scatter diagram,
histogram,
Pareto chart
and stratification.
Apart form these
Data stratification,
Defect maps ,
progress centers,
randamization etc can also be used in it.SPC can use these tools to measure and control quality .
It can be done by monitoring the process of manufacturing. Under it Quality data is collected in the form of product or process measurements or readings from various machines or instrumentation. Most popular are control charts which are used for variable data.
X-bar represents the average or mean value of the variable x. The X-bar chart displays the variation in the sample means or averages. The Range chart shows the variation within the subgroup.
