Hi guys, ASAP please answer the question thank you so much!!
A cyclist travelling at 8.0 m/s is rounding a corner of radius 20 m on a flat road by leaning into the curve at an angle x with respect to the vertical. the coefficient of static friction between the tyres and the road is 0.80 and the rims and tyres are of negligible mass in comparison to the mass of the cycle and rider.
1. draw a diagram explicitly showing the vertical and lateral forces on the combined mass of rider and cycle
2. by determining the torques about the combined centre of mass, show the angle of the lean is given by tanx = Ffr/Fn (friction force and normal force )
3. detemine the angle x for the value given
4. evaluate the minimum radius of turn the cyclist could make at that speed
5. explain why a properly designed velodrome is a better place for high speed cycling than a flat road
5) In velodrome the plane on which we do cycling will be inclined so, a component of normal force will also act as centrifugal force . Due to which we can cycle with more speed
