What are the steps in designing a Research Project?
Designing a research project is a gradual and careful process that involves many steps. Some of them are as follows:
1. Developing the research question- The first step in designing a research project is to define the general problem by reviewing the existing literature on the theme and specifying the research objectives.
2. Outlining the methodology: The researchers also need to define the target population and determine where, when and how the data will be collected. They select or create data collection tools and develop a plan for analyzing the data.
3. Conducting the research is the step that follows post this. In this, the participant recruitment and informed consent process can be begunAlso the project monitoring needs to be conducted at this stage. Supervision is something that goes hand in hand through the process. Depending on the design, the study may take time to be completed ranging from days to weeks to even years in case of larger samples.
4. Analysis of data: The data aggregation, statistical analysis and results interpretation is something that needs to be accomplished at this stage.
5. Reporting and dissemination of results: Abstract/manuscript preparation is undertaken at this point. Also publication selection and conference presentations are conducted so that the entire research can e presented in a systematic manner.
