Public communication is is defined as a a sender focused communication which one person is speaking to an audience which means public communication is is very effective while communicating with mass. there were many situation in which public communication would be more effective than other forms of communication if that situation include gathering. Public communication is very much effective while addressing public, for example - Prime minister while addressing the whole nation, uses an effective public communication technique to convey his message effectively to all the people.

Some of the situation in which public communication would be more effective than other forms of communication are as follows -

  1. Leaders while addressing his followers in order to disperse his thoughts and ideas clearly to his followers.
  2. Companies while addressing it's marketing or conveying it's message by campaign to the general public in order to promote its products and services. Companies uses public communication for increasing its brand awareness
  3. Broadcasting of news or any television broadcasting uses public communication. Also radio broadcasting, several media outlets, campaign etc uses public communication as whole.

Public communication is more effective as it involve a huge gathering or address huge number of people so any message addressed via public communication seems to have impact on huge minds hence it is very much effective. The overall purpose of public communication is to convey message from an individual or an organisation to a huge number of people.
