Answer :

as the sir diamond mention in his talk, the perceived value of the elderly is an important factor in determining whether seniors are respected or not

Jared Diamond examines the Many differences in how societies across the world view and treat their senior citizens like old people and old age persons near them .

In some societie childrens care for their parents at home, while in other cultures and societies children put their parents in homes where others care for them.

in the United States a senior citizen is defined as someone who is 65+.

---Diamond gives a raw and eye-opening insight to not only how older people are being treated, but also why they are being treated that way. He states that the variation in treatment toward the elderly is based on two things: their usefullness in soceity, and the values of that society. In our modern society, Diamond says these two factors are applied to the ability to work (usefulness), and the virtues of self-reliance and independence (values of society)

Now in our society, most old people end up living separately from their children, and away from the friends they grew up with. In traditional societies everyone lives out their lives among their children and friends. That said, their treatment varies wildly.

sir diamond thinks that there aare also some important factors or having grandperent s and elder at there place they can provide the knowledge tp their childrens and they can make your decision easy by helping you in anything becouse they have spent there whole life and gain many experiences

diamond said that  Traditional society elders have traditionally more rich lives

They think of dangers far less than we do, and they don’t die of heart disease and diabetes

and this is very siimiler to.the book pshycology of aging becouse it also include this features in this book so this ted talk is somehow very much related to Pshycology of aging
