  • Assessments should reveal how well students have learned what we want them to learn while instruction ensures that they learn it. For this to occur, assessments, learning objectives, and instructional strategies need to be closely aligned by teachers so that they reinforce one another.
  • If the learning goal is is to interpret,exemplify,classify,summarize,infer,compare,explain certain concept then the teacher should use appropriate assessment methods like, Activities such as papers, exams, problem sets, class discussions, or concept maps that require students to:summarize readings, films, or speeches;compare and contrast two or more theories, events, or processes;classify or categorize cases, elements, or events using established criteria;paraphrase documents or speeches
    find or identify examples or illustrations of a concept or principle.
  • If assessments are misaligned with learning objectives or instructional strategies, it can undermine both student motivation and learning.
  • Good alignment of objectives providesteachers with a tool to evaluate their decisions about the relevance of course activities, content, and assessments. For students, well-aligned learning objectives are important because they clearly communicate expectations and demonstrate how discrete knowledge chunks fit together as a whole.
  • Proponents of performance assessments argue that assessment and instruction must form a seamless web that promotes teacher/student collaboration, active learning, critical thinking skills, and multidisciplinary understanding.   • My goal for assessment would be to strengthen my customer responsiveness in my work. And I would do that my assessing my teamwork skills and communication skills. Assessing my work will help to build my ability to see the big picture, develop effective oral and written skills and the ability to work cooperatively with my peers are skills that will be promoted by active assessment. Using oral presentations,peer reviews,communicating with my team will help me improve myself and reach my goal.
