Solutions

Expert Solution

Ans. This would directly impact- inoculation, isolation, information gathering

Restriction on growth of a microbes at very low temperature (psychrophiles) would impact on inoculation. Inoculation involves the transfer of the microbes to another sytem (animal body or plant body) to analyse the effect of the microbes (diseases and disorders) on plants or animals. Animals have a body temperature (for example human has normal body temperature of 37oC) and hence microbes will not be able to grow. If it does not grow analysis of effect of the microbes is not possible. Isolation from the culture medium and use at room temperature will not be possible for these microbes and hence such microbes needs to be handled at this very low temperature always which ia a very difficult task and nearly impossible. Information gathering for such microbes including proteins and enzymes, many other biomolecules and chemicals which are heat sensitive will be very difficult because these microbes' proteins and enzymes will lose its 3-D strucre at temperature outside its low temperature growth chamber and hence analysis of structure of proteins and enzymes at room temperature is not possible. Hence, information gathering needs to be performed for many chemicals at low tempratute and therefore becomes a very difficult task.

C program only There is a documented prototype for a function called get_a_line in the .c file. Write a definition for get_a_line—the only function called from that definition should be fgetc. You can use the given main function to test your code. You should run the executable several times to check different cases: Type Ctrl-D in response to the prompt for input. get_a_line should fail to read any characters, put a ’\0’ character at the beginning of the array, and...

The low-frequency relative permittivity of water is 88.00 at 0°C. At the same temperature, the index of refraction (at 589.3 nm) is roughly 1.33. a.Which mechanisms contribute to the refractive index and to the relative permittivity? b.Why is the refractive index so much smaller than the relative permittivity at low frequencies?

(C++ ONLY) You will define your own data type. It will be a struct called Fraction. The struct will have 2 integer fields: numerator and denominator. You will write a function called reduce that takes a Fraction as a parameter and returns that Fraction in its reduced form. For example, if the fraction 2/4 is passed to the function, the fraction 1/2 will be returned. Consider any fraction with a denominator of 1 to be in reduced form. You will...

In C++, implement a class called setOper that provides several simple set operations. The class only needs to deal with sets that are closed intervals specified by two real numbers; for example, the pair (2.5, 4.5) represent the interval [2.5, 4.5]. The following operations should be supported: - Check if the value x belongs to the given interval. - Check if the value x belongs to the intersection of two intervals. - Check if the value x belongs to the...

1.A production function such as Y=AKaLb is called the Cobb-Douglas (C-D) production function. Only two factors of production are assumed here: capital (K) and labor (L), with A interpreted as the level of technology. Later, it was discovered that human capital (H) is also a "neglected"factor of production, assuming that the function satisfies constant return to scales for all the factors of production that it should include (except for technology). In the correct production function, there should be: A. a+b=1。...
