b) When Nii Kpakpo got to the Ministry of Information in the United States of Accra, he observed that managers were not playing their roles. For instance, workers prefer to come to work late and leave early to their homes to avoid traffic on the road after 5pm. Using the case of any organization, examine some behaviours expected of these managers in order to curb this situation and enhance performance .

Late coming or going home early can reduce business productivity, especially if they do not compensate for the lost work time at the end of their shifts. Most importantly, it hurts the morale and work ethics other employees who might feel bitter when the late comers are not disciplined for their lateness. Further, it might encourage other employees to start coming late to work if there is no sign of consequence for the bad behaviour.

With the help of a survey this study sought to find out how the traffic congestion in Accra and Tema affect employee productivity, particularly among workers who use the major streets of the central business parts and Tema. Using employees of Scancom Ghana Ltd., the study also sought to evaluate workers views on the extent to which traffic congestions affect employee productivity.

With the help of sampling technique, data collection, questionnaire survey, evaluation of frequency and intensity of traffic, the summary of findings were brought about.

The data collected supported the hypothesis that- Relationship between the means of transportation used by workers and frequency of traffic congestion encountered.

Based on the responses of the majority of the respondents that effects of traffic congetions on employees were reporting to work stressed out or tired, change in sleeping patterns, occassional loss of concentration due to thoughts or commuting back home. But all this did not effect the productivity of the workers. This was because a minimal form of flexi time the company introduced which allowed the workers to make up their work time due to loss by traffic congestions.
