1:Halo Effect
The halo effect is a type of cognitive bias where one aspect of a person influence decision making on another aspect of the same person
Example:
a: A person spoke very sweetly to me. This forced me to believe that person's character is good.
b: My neighbor is always is well dressed made me believe or decide he is also smart.
2:Telegraphing
Telegraphing, in an interview context, is when the interviewer asks a question in a way that tells the candidate the answer he or she is looking for.
A: This job requires some one good in communication skill can describe 2 scenrio's where you have demostrated good communication skills
B: We are looking for some one who can work in cloud technology can you demonstrate your cloud knowledge
3: Stereotyping
Stereotyping is a type of cognitive bias where over-generalized belief about a particular group or class of people based on interaction with a sample in the group .
A: My boss is a south indian .He eats vegetarian food so all South indian's are vegetarian.
B: My chinese vendor speaks poor English. Generally chinese are poor in English.
4: Behavioral Interviews
Behavioral based interviewing is interviewing based on discovering how the interviewee acted in specific employment-related situations. The logic is that how you behaved in the past will predict how you will behave in the future
A: Can would you deal with a situtation where 3/4 team members have taken a sick leave and you need to deliver the work today itself
B: You are asked to communicate a poor rating to one of your subordinate whom you believe have performed well. what would be your communication to him
5: Structured Interviews
A structured interview is when all questions are prepared in advance .
