You are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. CNN informs you that in one hour, a videotape will be broadcast in which several of your company’s vice presidents will be heard making offensive comments about other employees, the company in general, and your leadership abilities. What do you do?
A Thumbs Up! Would be really helpful for me. If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
So, in this scenario being a CEO I would basically try to stop the videotape to get it broadcast because as a CEO, no matter what the vice president acts have been but I had to stop it getting broadcast to protect the image of the company. Being realistic optimism in this situation will be a confident step and confront challenges while still striving to reach audacious goals. Also, the next step will be to have a meeting with the company's presidents to have a better understanding of what exactly the problem they are facing with the employees or company in general that made them make offensive comments. Being a CEO, I have to understand while accepting the situation and handle it accordingly. Also, I would like to listen to their perceptions about what problems they are facing because that will help me and my people to correct the mistakes and wonder what strategies can be taken to improve them. This will give the confidence to the vice presidents about they are being heard adequately and bring positivity.
