Brief about company: TATA motors is and Indian multinational company which is into manufacturing of automobiles with headquarters in Mumbai, India. With many assembly plants in cities across India and abroad. Tata's main subsidiaries purchased are jaguar land rover and Daewoo. Founded in the year 1945 and is listed in BSE. NSE and the New York stock exchange. The company stands in 265th on the fortune 500 list. Producer of automotive in various segments like commercial vehicles, military vehicles, electric vehicles. And joint ventures with Marco polo, fiat, Hitachi etc.
Research and applying the following concepts
1. Competitive intelligence: it is to gather data about the industry, competitors- strategies, products and services, business environment etc as this information would help analyzing the present scenario and develop smarter business strategies.
Tata motors has been very good at studying market and all the constraints in detail before taking up any step like development of strategy or making any new addition to the product line etc. for example according to the article on leading business new portal, Tata motors will start a feasibility study before they introduce the electric version of Tata Indica in India.
2. Demographics: statistical information with respect to the population and other important factors to know the customer preferences.

5. Resource based view (RBV): it is to know what resources a firm can use to have competitive advantage. Tata motors have its parent company and other subsidiaries which manufactured and lend raw materials, components etc thus making sure it has a competitive advantage.
6. Balanced score card (BSC): it is a strategic measurement tool or approach to check if the objectives, mission and vision stated are in the process of achievement or not. Tata motors is very dedicated in measuring all the 4 perspectives of BSC viz, financial, customer, internal process and learning and growth.
7. Human capital: it means the knowledge, abilities, skills, experience of an employee of the company: Tata motors follow a very strict recruitment process to select the best candidate to make sure right person is in right place and employee turnover too is at minimum.
