Information technology are widely used by every Organization due to increasing demand in innovation. Digitalization has introduced wide variety of products with different and special specification. Even the management needs information technology to manage its operations and effectively maintain the data in different software which are these days used by the managers to take decision as they provide the comparison facilities.

The organization uses the information technology to draft the policies and business strategies accordingly. Utilizing the information technology implies that the data produce is accurate and reliable and hence optimizing profits for the company.

To support the Organizational Transformation, Information technology adds value to the business by providing the key members who are well trained in information technology matters by developing and providing the strategic solutions.

Organizations can use the cloud computing to bring the innovation and develop new products and services. Cloud computing helps an organization for rent additional information technology resources on pay as you go basis. This add the strategic advantage to the organization to market the new products instantly and gain competitive advantage. It allows the organization to cop up with the change quickly. It provides a chance to respond to the changes in demand, increase wealth and satisfy the customers.

Hence the information technology has shifted the support and administrative functions to strategic functions with the help of software’s that are being used by the industry at large. In banking, retailing businesses wherein the response required is quite urgent and instant, the IT is adding value to the business by providing quick response and help the personals.

Example – In super markets, or Walmart stores, there is a computerized inventory control system wherein the order electronically placed from the suppliers and maintain the same in store room. The latest technology introduced by Walmart which is named as WSN- Wal-Mart Satellite Network which is multimillion project coordinating the various branches of Wal-Mart all over the world and storing the data of thousands of employees.

General Motors is the second example who are taking the benefits of innovative information technologies and where the top management is keen to learn and grab whatever the possible outcome of this technology can be for forming the strategies for business.

Information technologies has now been shifted from administrative function to business planning strategies and have become source for centralized coordination and management.
