Foreign assignments can be considered to be one of the main concerns for the managers and a large portion of their consideration of r the decisions regarding it are caused by the fact that they are concerned for their career and family and that is what causes them to refuse the assignment. This is true because these two values can be considered to be the main driving factor behind any individuals goals and aspirations. Even their entire existence if we think about it in that regards. Career aspects that they would lose out on, in their own country while they are out in another country performing the duties that are asked of them. There are a lot of opportunities that they can miss out due to the fact that their career option does not provide them with that many choices for growth or change. Even though the foreign assignment can be a rewarding and challenging aspect for them to follow, they are hesitant in their decision due to the fact that they think they would miss out on their family time as well as lose crucial career opportunities in the process. That is why they have problems agreeing to foreign assignments especially ones that are considered for a longer duration and may require for more time from them in order to be completed.
