Career stage is a model which every individual passes through in his or her professional life; typically there are five types of stages as explained below:
1. Exploration: This is a stage where an individual transitions from study to work which is before joining an employment. At this stage they explore which career would best suit them according to their knowledge and skill.
2. Establishment: This stage is where actually the career begins and one start working on their first job. Typically in this stage the individual may face job challenges and tries to develop their competency.
3. Mid-Career: This is the stage where the performance of an individual may increase or decrease or remain constant. Ambitious people would have already grown at this stage and would have called climbers. Individuals at this stage update themselves technically in order to keep up the pace with the new entrants.
4. Late Career: This stage is where the individual uses his reputation and plays at a leadership role. At this stage they may not learn anything new and try to move to a consultant position by training others in the organization.
5. Decline: This is the final stage of the individual career were typically ends with the retirement of the individual.
