What events occur to permit the next tRNA to interact with mRNA?

Drag the terms on the left to the appropriate blanks on the right to complete the sentences. Terms can be used once, more than once, or not at all.

options for the blanks: deactylated trna, 5' end, A, 3' end, E, peptidyl tRNA, AUC, CAU, P, GCC

The E site is empty, the               site contains the          , and the            site contains the            . The next codon is           , which enters the ribosome           site when the ribosome translocates three nucleotides toward the         of the mRNA. Translocation, which is catalyzed by EF-G and the energy of GTP hydrolysis, moves the           to the           site (where it can exit the ribosome) and the                 to the              site.

Please help fill in the blanks!!

Expert Solution

Please find the correct order to blanks below (bold-faced):

The E-site is empty, the P site contains the deacetylated tRNA, and the A site ocntains the peptidyl tRNA. The net codon is GCC, which enters the ribosome at A site, when the ribosome translocates three nucleotides toward the 3' end of the mRNA. Translocation, which is catalyzed by EF-G and the energy of GTP hydrolysis, moves the deacetylated tRNA to the E site (where it can exit the ribosome) and the peptidyl tRNA to the P site.
