what is the molarity concentration of lead cation in a saturated solution of lead sulfate? Ksp(PbSO4)= 6.3x10^-7 and what is the solubility of PbSO4 in g/ml?

show clear equations and answers

Solutions

Expert Solution

    PbSO4 ------> Pb+2 + So42-

                            s           s

Ksp = [Pb+2][So42-]

6.3x10^-7       = s*s

s2                 = 6.7*10-7

s                    = 8.185*10-4 M

[Pb+2]   = 8.18*10-4 M

molarity of PbSO4 = 8.185*10-4 mole/L

= 8.185*10-4mole/L *303.26g/mole

                                = 2482.18g/L

                               = 2482.18g/1000ml

                               = 2.48218g/ml
