Dietitians often recommend keeping a food log for a variety of reasons (weight loss, general wellness, diabetes management and/or teaching, IBS), why do you think this might be a helpful tool for both the dietitian and the client?_
Answer:- Keeping food log is one of the very beneficial tool for both client and dietician in order to analyse the impact of food items on the particular issue related to health whether it is related to disease like diabetes or any other disease or any health problem like obesity, malnutrition etc. If the food log is prepared truthfully then it will provide the correct information about each food items consumed by the client with reference of that particular condition whether he is intaking the food in stress condition or general condition or after waking up or after doing physical exercise . This logged information will help the dietician to analyse the food habit and how it is impacting on the physical health of the client , whether the client is recovering from that problem or not and if that diet is helpful and the client gains benefit and improving his physical health then they recommend to continue and if those food habits shows negative impact then they cut down those food habits from their diet and recommend another food and another condition in order to mitigate that particular health issue. Keeping food log also help to develop healthy and proper and nutritious diet rich food habits of any person.
