Expert Solution

The most important goal of education is intelligence and character. The main purpose schools is to provide for the fullest possible development of each learner for living morally, creatively, and productively in a democratic society. The benefits of education are both monetary and non-monetary.

Education however seems to be more of a man made trap

Parents Perspective:

  1. Pipelines into the workforce- Parents believe that education is the pipeline towards work. They think that education can get one a government job. Education is basically considered as investment that has to provide returns, the higher one invests the better returns would be.
  2. Inequality if there are multiple children- There m be inequality if there are several children, if the parents are not very well to do they will only provide quality education to one or few of them.
  3. Failing of Education system- Parents are trapped in thinking that if their children score low in tests, the education system as a whole is failing.

Teachers Perspective:

  1. There tends to be a lot of biasness on the teachers part since the teachers sometimes teach only the top students in the class and care only for them even if the rest of the class does not actually understand.
  2. Teachers do not really take accountability, and there is blame always going on either on the parents or the students.
  3. The knowledge may not always be valid, it is very necessary that teachers do go for frequent training and keep themselves updated. However most of the teachers are trapped towards thinking that they have all the knowledge needed.

Students Perspective:

  1. Students do not often have the choice to select the subjects that they are actually interested in and have to go ahead with the choices of their parents. This does not really help in the actual growth of the students.
  2. If a student always feels that they are being targeted and not given roper attention they would be discouraged and demotivated.
  3. Gender Bias and discrimination also traps the students and their full potential is never realized.

If all these perspectives are taken into consideration it is clearly evident that education is a man made trap.
