In an academic setting, the teacher-student relationship is very
important to assess the effectiveness of academic achievement and
the development of abilities.
- If the teacher keeps on high expectation then it might result
in good academic success and sometimes a better development of
abilities. The high expectations make the teacher give more effort
to the students and devise various techniques where the goals that
are expected can be achieved. Expectations to a certain level are
appreciated as it will endure confidence in the teacher-student
relationships. No expectations mean that there is no mutual aim or
the thrill to derive something. For instance, if teacher expects
that the students perform well in academics and learn some
abilities - then she will make sure that she teaches well, students
are given assignments, parents are informed, homework is sorted,
etc
- Teacher-student interaction also holds ab important pillar in
academic success and learning of abilities. It is the interaction
that means sharing of experiences, knowledge, facts, and ideas
between the teacher and student. This sharing of valuable
qualitative data makes the students grow in their knowledge
faculties, they try to learn new things, open up their creativity,
and promote critical thinking. The interaction also helps in
promoting discussions about various academic theories and learning
new skills. Students debate, discuss, reach an agreement, argue,
and disagree with the expert teachers. All these interactive
sessions promote the intellectual as well as behavioral tendencies.
For instance, In a science project, the students were taught about
certain chemical reactions, but in practical lab experiment they
got something else. They took this problem with the teacher. The
teacher then explained them what went wrong and what they got. This
was new learning expereince for students.
