Yes , i have encountered a person who demonstartes a manager like behaviour.He was my landlord who was a retired army officer.Since he was dealing with a superior role every days in his former period, he always exhibit a amanager attitude where he usually talks in a tone that others feel like he is ordering us something really firmly.Another aspect of his behaviour is the fact that he manages alot of matters in one hand- he manages a hotel, 3 rented house matters and a supermarket .Because of all these, it is clea that he is a person with a manager like behaviour.

Leader and Manager

  • Leader: is a person who is in charge of a group where he would lead them with a vision to achieve.
  • Manager: is a person who manages many matters (external and internal) of an organization by being the head to all the employees.

Distinction between a leader and a manager:

  • Leaders have their own unique side of vision and way of handling his followers while a manager would adopt the style which his superiors used to take and manage others in that way.
  • Risk-taking is one of the basic necessity of a leader while resisting and controlling the occurrence of risk is the main job of a manager.
  • Leaders mainly use the people as his catalyst for creating his vision whereas a manager uses the organizational structure and rules to create the goals.
  • Inspiring others is the key point in leadership while planning, organising, coordinating and controlling is the main responsibility of a manager.
  • Leaders usually embrace the change along with his followers and turn them according to his belief while a manager tries to maintain and refine himself from all kinds of change and maintain a status quo in his duties and rights.
  • Leaders love to influence others while managers love to coordinate others.

In short, we can say that a manager should always try to be a good leader if he wants to achieve success in his career path while a leader need not possess the managerial skill to be successful in his journey.,
