microbiology is the study of microorganisms. Microbiology focusses of habitat, cell structure and their roles in environment. As part of microbiology the benefits and harms caused by microorganisms are thoroughly discussed. Learning of Microbiology enables to evaluate role of microbes in day to day life. It is also known that how microbes are useful for manufacture of foods and chemical products that are useful to mankind. It can also be known that how microorganisms capable of contaminating the food and water and cause diusease.

An individual is able to assess his / her illness basing on symptoms when having the knowledge that what type of microbe is causing the illness. Microbiology also provides the basic idea about what antibiotic is produced by a microbe can treat the illness. Ove years, the basic knowledge about diseases remain with individuals who learnt the Microbiology and also knowledge about foods prepared using microbes. Therefore, learning microbiology imparts the knowledge of how fermented foods are prepared using microbes, how food and water are contaminated, how microbes are able to cause disease and what antibiotics are effective against a specific microbial infection etc.
