Women were treated as second class citizens for a very long time in history. They were used as child bearing machines, household maid and sexual pleasure centre. Although this mind-set of men delayed the progress of women empowerment, it was not able to stop it entirely as women started gaining their rights back and started spreading their presence in every nook and corner of social, political, economic and business spheres. The problem today is that men do not want to treat women as equal to men at workplace for various reasons.

One of the most important inequality women face at workplace is the difference in salary. Although men and women does the same job, men are given more salary than women. Second one is that women are overlooked for promotions for various reasons such as their pregnancy, taking care of children, their physical strength etc. Thirdly, they are sexually harassed or asked for sexual favours in order to be recruited or promoted. Thus, all these inequalities prevent the progress of women at the workplace.
