The use of drugs in teens
can be reduced by :
- Raising awareness about the
ill-effects.
- Strictly preventing the
accessibility of the drug.
- Checking on the company the teen
spends time with.
- Keeping the teen engaged in
productive activities or hobbies of interest and the booster
programs for teens such as the life skills improvement to cope up
with social pressure.
- Do not scare the kid if already
found addicted.
- Taking help from the rehabilitation
centers and counselors to get the teen engaged in the universal,
selective or the indicated drug prevention programs.
- Having a healthy discussion
regarding avoiding the peer pressure by encouraging the emotional
awareness and self-control.
- Spend more family time together to
keep the teen involved and letting the kid feel comfortable in
discussing the activities that he/she does.
- Do not let the child feel burdened
with parent's expectations.
- Society as a whole should plan and
work together to prevent the drug abuse by pairing up with
families, healthcare providers, school administration, sports coach
